The High Line (2016)
The High Line is an elevated park built on a former New York rail line that was originally used for transporting goods from downtown to uptown. For decades after it’s decommissioning in the 1980s, the rail line sat unused and nature had taken over. Wild plants and shrubs were found naturally growing throughout the tracks. This inspired urban planners to formally convert the defunct rail line into an aerial park.
As the High Line is fairly close to my apartment, one of my favorite weekend activities is to walk the High Line down to the Chelsea market for a bite, followed by continuing the rest of the way south to the Whitney Museum.
