Bikes along the Stanley Park Seawall

Bikes along the Stanley Park Seawall (2016)

Stanley Park is an urban park situated adjacent to Vancouver’s downtown core. The protected park is almost as large as Vancouver’s entire downtown area itself. Along the perimeter of the park is the Vancouver Seawall, which is a waterfront pathway accommodating pedestrians, bicyclists, and rollerbladers. The statue in the painting is of Harry Jerome, a Canadian track and field legend who set 7 world records and won an Olympic medal during his career.

Biking along the Stanley Park Seawall is one of my favorite activities in the summer and I try to make a trip around at least once each year. I visited Stanley Park a few days after the end of summer while scouting for this piece. It was a generously warm October’s day and bikers were taking advantage of the October sun.
